Terms of Service
Last updated: July 6, 2026
These terms govern the hosted Stepped service at app.stepped.ai (the "Service"), operated from Germany. If you self-host Stepped, these terms do not apply to you — your use of the software is governed solely by the AGPL-3.0 license.
1. The Service
The Service lets you record browser workflows and run them as automations, APIs, MCP tools, and scheduled jobs. It runs the same open-source software published at github.com/myfoxit/stepped.
2. Provided as-is
The Service and the underlying software are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement — consistent with the AGPL-3.0 under which the software is licensed. We do not guarantee that any given workflow will keep working: the websites you automate can change or break at any time. Liability is limited to cases of intent and gross negligence, and to the breach of essential contractual obligations, to the extent permitted by German law.
3. Your responsibilities
- Third-party sites. You are solely responsible for ensuring that the workflows you record and run comply with the terms of service, robots policies, and applicable laws of the websites they interact with. Stepped automates your browser doing your tasks; whether a given task is permitted on a given site is your call and your responsibility.
- Your account. Keep your credentials and API tokens confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Your content. You retain all rights to your workflows and recordings. By publishing a workflow to the community you grant other users the right to import and run it.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- break the law, or infringe the rights of others;
- circumvent access controls, rate limits, or paywalls you are not entitled to pass — using your own logged-in accounts is fine, breaking into someone else's is not;
- send spam, scrape personal data at scale, or conduct denial-of-service-like automation;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service itself.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
5. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Because the software is open source, you can always take your workflows and self-host — export exists precisely for that.
6. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may terminate accounts for violations of these terms, with notice where reasonable.
7. Governing law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
8. Contact
See the imprint for the service provider and contact details.
